Personne ne comprît au départ que du tout est possible au tout est permis, il n'y avait qu'un pas.
Alexandre Jardin, "Des gens très bien".
Никто не понял вначале, что от "все возможно" до "все разрешено", всего один шаг.

So what then is to be our verdict on Walter Schellenberg? Unlike Kurt Becher, he seems to have made little money out of his good deeds at the eleventh hour. His motives therefore cannot be written off so easily. That they nevertheless embodied a good portion of opportunism, we continue to suspect. But Schellenberg was a reflective opportunist with the residue of a conscience, still capable of being resurrected. His moral capital was limited, but he could be appealed to, and reasoned with. Practical wisdom recognises that such men have their uses and their moment. In life,we cannot always pick our rescuer when we stand at the edge of an abyss. Schellenberg had tried, earlier than most in his immediate circle, to do the right thing. That deserves to be recorded. Yet, in the end, to what avail? The die had been cast long ago. As Heydrich’s “Benjamin”, as Himmler’s ambassador, Schellenberg’s good deeds are doomed to live on, in the dark shadow of his masters, and his reputation tarnished accordingly.

wehrmacht-awards.com/
Wehrmacht-Awards.com is an entity focused on the awards, decorations and militaria of the German Armed Forces during the Third Reich era.
Within the pages of this project you will find construction methods, manufacturing characteristics, and detailed specifications of vital interest to every collector. Yet the site offers more than technical information; by presenting recipient biographies and delving into the historical atmosphere of the era, the reader is able to better understand and appreciate the experiences of the men who charged into battle for Germany throughout World War II.

30 Jan., 1933 Adolf Hitler becomes Chancellor of the Reich. Ernst Rudin, professor of psychiatry, praises Hitler, saying it is thanks to him that "the dream we have cherished for more than thirty years of seeing racial hygiene converted into action has become reality."
1933 Dr. M. H. Goering, cousin of Marshal Hermann Goering, states that psychotherapists should make a serious scientific study of Hitler's Mein Kampf and recognize it as a basic work. This statement is published in Germany's Journal of Psychotherapy, of which Carl Jung is the editor.
1933 Madison Grant publishes Conquest of a Continent, a "racial history of the US." He sends copies to Mussolini, Nazi professor Dr. Eugen Fischer at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for the Study of Anthropology, Human Heredity and Eugenics in Berlin, Dr. Alfred Rosenberg (Hitler's chief scientific advisor) and Nazi race hygienist Dr. Fritz Lenz at the University of Munich.
1933 German doctors harass Jewish doctors by having them beaten, subjected to the sounds of gunshots, etc.
1933 Himmler creates Dachau in Germany on 20 March, 1933 as a place to send Communists, Social Democrats, etc.
1933 Dr. Hyde's first psychiatric patient, Theodor Eicke, becomes commandant of Dachau and then overall inspector of concentration camps. Hyde is consulting neuropsychiatric expert for the Gestapo and conducts "psychiatric/neurologic and heredity research" on concentration camp inmates.

Franz Goering: The name file on Franz Goering consists of very limited information about Goering's work during World War II as an aide to Walter Schellenberg, head of the Foreign Intelligence branch of the RSHA, and more information about Goering's mishaps in 1959 as a BND official.
Born in 1908, Goering made a career in the Criminal Police, then switched to the Security Police. In 1944 Schellenberg took him on as an assistant, partly on the recommendation of his secretary, with whom Goering was having an affair. At first, Goering's main duty was to look after important guests, such as Swiss politician Jean Marie Musy. Toward the end of the war Schellenberg used Goering in negotiations designed to release groups of inmates from concentration camps in northern Germany behind Hitler's back-though there is no information about these activities in the CIA name file. Goering also allegedly took valuables to Sweden for Schellenberg.
By 1959 Goering was a BND official. One of his former colleagues showed up to see him in Hamburg: the two men went out drinking, and Goering invited the man to spend the night. In the morning the guest was gone, and so were some records on intelligence operations which Goering had kept at his home. The guest was a Soviet agent, and he left a note inviting Goering to defect.
