In Nurnberg, when he was asked about that matter, Eggen told the U.S. investigating magistrate: " Maybe Schellenberg believed that as part of his rivalry with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he might play some political role via Switzerland. In order to fully understand that, you have to know how complicated the relations were between Ribbentrop and Schellenberg". The U.S. investigator interjected, "They were not that complicated; Schellenberg wanted to have Ribbentrop's post". Eggen responded, "Yes, he did. Through Switzerland (Masson) Schellenberg tried to play some political role and derive some advantage for himself." When the investigating magistrate remarked, "It seems to me that Shellenberg knew as little about politics as he did about intelligens," Eggen dryly replied, "Had he known more about it, I would not be sitting here today.... Schellenberg does not know anything at all about the international state of mind. He never got out of the country"Б

ЗЫ Книгу эту я домучила, не знаю даже почему она у меня так тяжело пошла. Главный вывод: Шелленберг швейцарцев очаровал, обдурил, но все остались довольны.
